Celebrate on Saturday May 17 2014!

  • What's free culture?

It allows artists to distribute & modify creative works in the form of free content through the internet.

  • What's Culture Feedom Day?

CFD is a day to invite everybody to go on the street to showcase their free culture works and share their arts to everybody!

  • Sponsors, supporters, artists...

Thank you very much to all the people and organizations making CFD possible!

28March Promote OpenClipart on Culture Freedom Day!

As Culture Freedom Day preparation is ongoing we got the chance to meet up with Jon Philips from the Open Clipart Library, a good friend of ours and a strong supporter of our events. Jon kindly authored a video to support us and encourage participants to take a closer look at the Open Clipart Library new website design and functionalities. So without further ado we will let Jon do the presentation and thank him and the Open Clipart team for their support!

So don't forget to use and showcase the Open Clipart Library at your event!

20March Culture Freedom Day Registration is on!

CFD registration is on!

For this third edition of Culture Freedom Day we are back for a celebration on the third Saturday of May and hoping to get as many people as possible joining the events. Free Culture is indeed one of the most accessible form of art and development issued from the Free Software philosophy, one also used by millions if you think of WikiPedia or indirectly Creative Commons, and those are just a few obvious examples!

So as usual this message is really for organizers and the process has not changed: simply go to the CFD wiki, create your event page under the right year, country and city and register your event here. Once all this is done you will appear on our events map and people will know where to go! So all the best for the 2014 edition and let the show begins!

Work in progress

The site is still heavily being worked on and you may experience some hiccups. Among the missing items which you won't find right now are:
  1. Event listing
  2. Event registration
  3. The wiki
  4. The start up guide
  5. Credits page
  6. Translations
All those should gradually pop up in the upcoming few days and hopefully satisfy your passionate hunger for more Culture Freedom Day stuff...
