Celebrate on Saturday May 18 2013!

  • What's free culture?

It allows artists to distribute & modify creative works in the form of free content through the internet.

  • What's Culture Feedom Day?

CFD is a day to invite everybody to go on the street to showcase their free culture works and share their arts to everybody!

  • Sponsors, supporters, artists...

Thank you very much to all the people and organizations making CFD possible!

18May Happy Culture Freedom Day

The day to celebrate is finally here and it's time to go out and enjoy Free Culture. For the lucky ones just rush to an event in your area and discover what they have prepared for you. It's surely a great opportunity to meet up with the people doing art for a living and willing to share it with you! If there is nothing in your area you can just stay at home and enjoy a Free Culture movie with your family or even better, just create a CFD with your community that you will celebrating in one or two weeks. What matters is the impact you can make and the date is of very little importance!

22March Registration is on

We are launching Culture Freedom Day registration! As usual one will need to create a wiki page under the proper year and location of its event, with either the program listed or a link to their own website. We expect CFD to be more popular than last year, but definitely will favour quality over quantity. This year as we are having HFD and CFD one month apart, and that promoting Open Hardware can equal to promoting Free Culture and Design we are expecting to have some combined events. So let's see what the 2013 edition will bring us and learn for the years to come!

12March Celebrate Hardware Freedom Day

The DFF (ex-SFI) is proud to announce Hardware Freedom Day on April 20th 2013 to celebrate Open Source Hardware and encourage your neighbours to hack. Simply create a wiki page under this page (we guess you can find the right country and city by yourself - guide available here and register your event here .

Anyone registering before March 15th, 2013 will get a free start up event kit but either way you'll appear on the registered map and be part of the group to celebrate HFD worldwide !

Work in progress

The site is still heavily being worked on and you may experience some hiccups. Among the missing items which you won't find right now are:
  1. Event listing
  2. Event registration
  3. The wiki
  4. The start up guide
  5. Credits page
  6. Translations
All those should gradually pop up in the upcoming few days and hopefully satisfy your passionate hunger for more Culture Freedom Day stuff...
