Culture Freedom Day 2012 Announced

Digital Freedom International is very proud to announce the launch of Culture Freedom Day. Having lead a similar celebration about Software Freedom for now eight years DFI has gradually witnessed Free Culture spreading among the SFD celebrations.

Culture Freedom Day is therefore a logical extension of Software Freedom Day bringing an international date for all Free Culture artists and activists to showcase what Free Culture is really about, reach out to the public and use this opportunity to meet like-minded people. We invite everybody who cares about knowledge sharing to organize or join an Culture Freedom Day event in their area.

Culture Freedom Day will be hosted annually starting on Saturday May 19th, 2002 and probably every third Saturday of May each subsequent year. It is an event for artists and free culture advocates to showcase their free culture works to the public and promote the concept of free culture to more artists in order to promote knowledge sharing. If you are interested to organize an Culture Freedom Day event, please feel free to read the resource pages and register your event. If you would like to join an existing events, please go to the event map to check out if there is an event in your area.

Happy Culture Freedom Day!

Work in progress

The site is still heavily being worked on and you may experience some hiccups. Among the missing items which you won't find right now are:
  1. Event listing
  2. Event registration
  3. The wiki
  4. The start up guide
  5. Credits page
  6. Translations
All those should gradually pop up in the upcoming few days and hopefully satisfy your passionate hunger for more Culture Freedom Day stuff...
